Selling TVR - advice please!
Discussion
Due to imminent arrival of first child am sadly going to have to sell our 96 Chimaera. Ideally looking to sell by July so no time to advertise in next issue of Sprint. How would you recommend I sell? Also, would you let potential buyers test drive? What about insurance? Thanks for your help!
I usually let them test drive - following judgement of their nature! With only one exception they've all taken it very steady. The one exception (who got the back out on a corner
) was the bloke who fell for it and bought it!
Good luck with the sale. Unfortunately I think there'll be a lot of competition.

Don't be silly, keep it.....my kids like having 'Daddy's noisy car' around the place! You've got a sensible car too judging by your profile so you can use that when you need to transport the new arrival.

Serious question, but why does having a baby mean getting rid of the TVR?! Surely there will be times when you and your partner go out together, without the child? Or times (esp. when it's older) when you take the child out without your partner? Just think how much more fun trips out with your son/daughter will be in an interesting car. I have very vivid early memories of being driven around in my grandad's V8 Stag - the sound, the smell of the leather and petrol, and of course being thrown back into my seat when he accelerated!
Do you want your child to grow up a front-wheel drive namby pamby with no interest in cars (because their only experience is of boring ones)?!! If you do sell it, just promise me you won't turn into one of those dads who gives the death glare at those of us who still have a cool car!!
