Rubber round the windscreen

How can I re-attach a 6 inch patch of the rubber seal around the windscreen ? The rubber itself, comes loose and flaps around in the wind at speed, when I have the roof off.

Also, I have purchased new rubber for the side of the roof panel as it meets the door windows. Is there a specific adhesive I should be using to attach it to the roof ?

Silicon can be a fantastic adhesive, providing both surfaces are very clean & bone dry... but I'm sure someone will be along with a 'specific' product you should be using - especially for the new bits along the side of the roof panel...that stuff looks welded on to me??

Screen adhesive have used Sika flex not cheap but very good.

As previously stated, it MUST be clean and dry for good adhesion.

If your window rubber is the same as my Chim, i.e. an extrusion that has a "T" section that runs inside a "T" section channel. Then I’ve found that it doesn’t need any adhesive. You could if you wished, just spot it with a bit of Sika flex both ends just to hold in place.

I had the same problem last year, I ran a bead of silicon into the rubber and it has stayed in place ever since, even at over the legal speed limit!!

Cheers guys......will try one of the above if my Cheeky ploy doesn't work. I am cheeky enough to go to Auto Windscreens or similar and ask them what they use, and can I buy some..........I am hoping that the desired "No probs mate, lets have a look......oh that's nothing, here, we'll do that for you" might happen !!
