I am looking to change from the standard factory SS exhaust on my Cerbera 4.5 to a good sounding sports exhaust .

Recommendations anyone?

If your going to de-cat it, joospeed.net do a bi-pass pipe I saw them last week looks good.

I've seen a few threads mentioning this de-catting of the exhaust, will this not fail the MOT (and therefore be illegal to run). I know some enthusiasts will put the cats back on at MOT time but since I am not mechanically minded (best I can do is check fluid levels) I would have to get the local dealer to do this - and even then I am unsure whether they would allow this.

What does the bi-pass pipe involve (how is it fitted - does it bypass cats on existing exhaust)

ive got a 4.2 with 4.5 later system and it has Joolz's "quiet" de-cat pipes fitted. These are loud enough to satisfy me and seriously loud enough for the street. These replace the cats which restrict noise considerably with two small silencers which bring the noise up considerably. The straight de-cat pipes in my opinion are just toooo loud man! sports back box and de-cat is bloody deafening! The de-cat pipes are about a foot long and removal and replacement with the cats for mot takes a matter of minutes. If you dont feel confident, any exhaust fitters Quikfit/Formula 1 etc will do it for a "Drink". Joolz will make them to order and either ship of fit. As with everything else he does they are top quality at extremely reasonable price. At about 1/4 price of an aftermarket exhaust you get all the pops and bangs you can handle and still not intrusive on long jeorneys at high speed/light throttle. Go on, get em bought. You know you want em!

Thanks for feedback guys.

I have decided to get the de-cat pipes fitted whilst leaving on the rear silencers. This seems to be the best option judging by the feedback from yourselves, Joolz at Joospeed and even the local dealer (who will fit the pipes and correct at MOT time).
