Le Mans TVR at Motorexpo

Straight onto the back of a lorry...

TVR will be transporting one of the Synergy Le Mans through the night from France in order to exhibit it at The Daily Telegraph Motorexpo, running from Monday 14th to the Sunday 20th June at Canary Wharf.

After the race finishes at 4 pm on Sunday, one of the cars will be whisked straight back to the UK for the show and will be on display, still covered in the flies and track dust from the world’s most gruelling motor race. The TVR Le Mans car is being lent to the show by its owner and one of TVR's team of drivers, Gareth Evans.

TVR will also be exhibiting the new Tuscan 2 Convertible and the first production Sagaris.

The Le Mans T400R will be on display in one of the Motorexpo's new exhibition areas - the new East Wintergarden. Other exhibits located in the East Wintergarden will include Land Rover's Range Stormer, the Renault Wind, the Lexus RX400h and the Jaguar RD6. The Tuscan 2 and the Sagaris will be in the Tower, One Canada Square.

Is it me or does that T400R look a bit beefier than your usual...

The arches look huge. Looks more like a cross between a T400R and a Speed12...

Well, it ain't here yet.

Still, the Tuscan Convertible is gorgeous and the Sagaris as impressive as ever.

"Stand" is a bit much, but there are two cars there!

Apparently, the Le Mans car is going to be in a different part of CW - The "East Wintergarden", wherever *that* is...

Even that's pretty good going, given that everyone involved has had no sleep for a week and they all went out and got bladdered last night...

The East Wintergarden is near Jubilee Park (the one with the Tube entrances sticking out of it). If you go to the rear entrance to the Tube (the one recently opened), you will see the Land Rover experience area across the road, which is also in the Winter Garden.

I had a chat with Ben earlier and the race car is now off the ferry, back in Blighty and on its way.

As regards the 'stand' - for TVR to be in the main building alongside Aston Martin, Ferrari, Porsche, Maybach, Rolls Royce etc is great - and most of these marques have little more than a couple of cars and a few sales people - which is precisely what TVR have.

Oh, it was no way intended to be a criticism. It's simply a statement of fact - there is no stand. I was very impressed that they have Bentley (Boy, is that Continental GT ugly) on one side and Ferrari on the other and Rolls-Royce round the corner (£130K for orange-peel paintwork not as good as TVR's? I think not...)

And who in their right mind is going to buy an MG-SV for £70K when they can have a Sagaris for £50K?

I was going to use the word 'display' but according to 'Jane's Guide to Car Shows' a display is four cars or more

Sorry chaps - got this wrong. The Wintergarden is in fact the arch shaped glass building behind the entrance to the Jubilee Park shopping mall. Not a million miles from where I said, but different none the less.

The car is in remarkably good nick considering it has just driven 2,400 miles in race conditions.
