I've heard the roads can be pretty cambered and rutted - is it true ?

The roads have improved greatly over the last few years....especially between Dublin and Belfast...but out in the sticks and round the coastal roads there is some scary black stuff !! If you have even seen the Donegal rally or circuit of Ireland you'll know what I mean.....
