How long does an S6 rebuild take?

Feeling a bit sad at the moment as my car's been at the garage for 3 weeks now since I had it delivered by the kind AA man. 
Out of interest, how long have people generally waited from when they've chosen to have a rebuild, to picking up the car?
Obviously there'll be differences due to parts chosen, and the garage having to fit other regular work in, but I just need to gauge whether we're talking days, weeks or more than a month?
I've committed to a few events etc coming up so just trying to plan things if my Tuscan does end up needing the work, oh and i'm impatient to get the car back as it feels like someones stolen a kidney or something!
