Should LS TVR's have a place in the comunity?
Mine was a sad case that was not far off TVR Deans clutches, so saved from being butchered, thanks to rotten outriggers and a snapped crank..
Others like BlackiePauls Saggys, a very clean and servicable car got converted..
Or should they just let to die and donor their organs so others might survive?

I think there's definitely a place for engine transplants, plus anything else that someone wants to do as at the end of the day, its their car.
My only worry is that with so few cars on the road, if the transplant costs come down to a similar level as a top spec S6 (not sure how much difference there is in reality?), then it'll end up being "the norm".
Without turning into an S6 vs LS debate, the engine are both awesome but fundamentally different in character. I for one, hope that there stays a good mix of cars on the market and being developed but hope that the S6 continues to be worked on, developed and stays as the default choice except if you're after much much higher power levels than the S6 can deliver.

I believe there is a place for LS TVR's, although I love my AJP Cerbera, just the way it drives and sounds....
BUT if the engine went bang in a way that was going to take my pants down and spank my bottom (financially that is!) then I'd look at an LS.
..yours - Snookes - Jellison - BlackiePaul have all done great jobs on your LS TVR's, even saw an LS Tuscan 2 a few weeks back, all look and sound good.
There is room for all mate, be good to see you soon, been some time (I think?)

Anything goes...e3ach to their own...if it keeps them from the scrapyard all the better, and the bits people take off can be used again. It upsets me to see so many at TVR Dean etc.
I have experienced the bad and good side of the sp6, still love its character, its power, excitement, but at times it has tested me to the limits! Loved the AJP 4.5 too, as someone not long ago described it...'an EPIC engine'
If my sp6 broke AGAIN what would i do? Really couldnt tell you! (except that i would probably consider walking away from Tivs for a while!!) The sp6 developments seems to be coming up fast. IMHO A Turbo'd sp6 pushing 450-500bhp would be more than enough for the road in cars this light and may be considerably less than an LS installation.

You could do with an option for engine transplant if the S6 has died. I think that is the most legitimate time to put an LS in the car and salvage doesn't cover it.
As that option wasn't there I voted "anything goes". Oddly the more people that butcher and change their cars, the better the long term values on original ones.

although I agree in priciple, that depends on how the marque is perceived in future - it was only mainstream popular for about 10 years, so it will be interesting to see how it stands in 20 years. Think Marcos.... does it matter what's under the bonnet ? they're not exactly super-desirable regardless (i wouldn't invest in one - a Marcos I mean)Shouldn't there be an option as to whether the LS engine sits in or on the chassis?
For me, I wish it didn't happen. Especially with the LS. But, I very much believe that we live in a free country and owners must be free to do what they want and not stopped or harried.
At this moment in time there is certainly no commercial argument either way but over time this has been shown to change with many marques so I would certainly prep and store all the original parts so should the Market change in the future the owner has all options open to them.
I think it is also important to appreciate that not all conversions will be done properly or cleverly and I suspect that these bodge jobs would irritate all Tiv owner types. We all recall that orange Tuscan junk with the engine sticking through the bonnet.
I would say that if you want to do it then you have every right to do it but bloody well do it properly.
