TVRs and TVRCC at Castle Coombe for the GTs
Discussion
Huge turn out but I wasnt part of it!
I dont know anyone from the local regions so didnt come in to say hello.
How can I find out what regions are going to GT races in future so I can tag along?
There was no mention of it on PH and I doubt any in the TVRCC forums.
Any one going to Silverstone (mid August), Thruxton (end of August) and Donnington (FIAs next weekend)?
I'll be at all three of these. Would be good to meet with any TVRCC regions going.

Dusty.....did you not see the 3 HUGE purple TVR flags waving at Camp Corner.
The commentator mentioned them enough times.....
Mid Essex TVRcc Region are generally at most of the races except the more northern ones that are a little too far to do in a day.
Lots of peeps look out for the flags and come and say hello.....
Hope to see you next time.

..//P//Hi Adam,
I am the Wilts R.O.
I was at the Trackday on Friday morning sticking up notices inviting anyone there to a Wilts meeting in the evening, to which unfortunately a only few trackday attendees came. It was an attempt to be sociable to those who may be staying over for the weekend (or who might like a rest before their journey home - BTW I placed a post on PH, a notice was on the Wilts site and the C3C site and also in Sprint in my Regional Report).
I was also there on Sunday - my car was parked in the TVRCC parking area, a number of my TVRCC cards under the windscreen wiper in case anyone from the locality passed by and another batch left with Alison in the TVRCC 'tent' in case anyone made any enquiries. But I only saw one Wilts car that I recognised (Hi TheHobbit).
I saw Duncan from Bristol there (who had placed a notice under the wiper of his SEAC flagpole inviting any Bristolians to meet up at lunchtime, and I also met several TVRCC 'officers', and the ex-Hants R.O. was at the Friday Trackday - but have not met the current Hants R.O. yet so would not recognise him anyway!
I'm sorry you did not feel 'part' of the TVRCC scene - maybe a note to your R.O. asking what's going on might be an idea.
Cheers,
Paul

Yes Paul....so did we....
..and I didn't recognise him.....!!!!
Walked straight past in fact...until Diane stopped to chat....
Still, she had been to Le Mans the weekend before and had seen that Duncan had morphed into 'blonde' mode
Had to catch a piccy of that when he came and joined us later.......
Still...apparently...the week before...his hair had been purple!!!!
and I missed it....

Sorry Paul - the track day run through lunch so finished at 4pm, so I decided to beat the Chippenham/Devizes rush hour and go home rather than wait a few hours.
Adam - I think Craig is retaining Thruxton as Hants TVRCC event. Perhaps we should talk at the next H&C meet, it may also be useful to tie up with Racing Green (Keen) or Insane with the Berks lot. Last year the meeting was very SEAT based, and I didn't organise any special parking area. Perhaps an offer to help to Craig.
From Friday - it looked like the TVRCC trailer was on the last straight like last year, hopefully it was more welcoming than last year......
Yellow Peril is usually unmissable with lots of TVR flags above her chair!

For those of you who missed Duncan's purple hair have a quick look on the Devon & Cornwall web page gallery

Didnt mean to sound like I was moaning!
I walked around the whole circuit (and the paddock) and saw the TVRCC truck and car park. Also saw quite a few TVRs in the camping area. I didnt see anyone I recognised though so didnt come in. I felt that if I could have said
to someone here first then arranged to meet them it would have seemd OK. Didnt want to seem like I was just barging in!
Anyway. I shall make a better attempt to keep em' peeled for threads about the Silverstone and Thruxton GTs in the hope that I can meet a few of you and share your cosy dry awning

PH'ers are always welcome at the Insane Racing awning for biscuits and a cuppa at Tuscan Challenge meetings, which ios most of the remaining GT rounds
I was down at Combe from Thursday and didn't have time to post a reminder on here. And we were quite tucked away behind the circuit admin office, so not easy to find.
Don't be shy - come in and say hello!

You're not kidding! I walked all around the paddock looking for it just after the last Caterham race and couldn't find it anywhere!
I was forced to leave the circuit and drive to a cosy pub to drink an ale and eat a roast beef dinner
Thanks for the invite.
Next time I'll get there early and find Insane racing (or the "Tuscan/Teds Tea Rooms!") before it all starts so that I can find it again after the Tuscan races to see the condition of the car.
I guess it looked a little like a bath tub on Sunday

Not really. It doesn't have a proper floor, so although water comes in, it goes straight back out again.
I was a bit damp though!!
Superb racing and great to greet familiar faces from many other regions.
I didn't bump into as many Bristolians at Combe as I had hoped, but from previous year experience it's very hard to meet up. The racing and atmosphere is too good.
BTW - I took loads of piccies I pretty pleased with. Upload soon (fingers crossed)

Details of the TVR parking area etc were on the TVRCC site. All members are welcome at our hospitality area - even if you don't recognise anyone, you'll find one of the Committee members in attendance wearing our Club name badges so that we are recognisable. ROs weill all have their name badges this week (Royal Mail willing).

If they've been organised by P.S. I hope he's got a different PC now
- the last one appeared to be incapable of spelling my name right on the business cards he sent me!
