Any insurance companies on here?
Im currently getting a fantastic deal for my Griff 500 and GolfTDi at a regular insurance company. Trouble is I need trackday cover too.
Can I get the same deal with you including track day cover?
Would be very good and I'll recommend you ALL the time so please do it.

Were you with Royal & Sun Alliance, by any chance??
I'm kinda in the same boat, but have heard on good authority that Tesco & Direct Line, do sell mirror policies, so you can stay with Sunniunghill I guess, retain your trackday cover, and then get a second policy from either of these two, and reuse you no claims.
p.s thanks for the comment on my www site, but it's not finished yet.

Im with Bell Direct who were th only one that would mirror my 5 years (actually its about 8 years but they only care about the last 5).
The deal is that I had to insure both cars with them and use the 5 years for the Griff and insure the Golf TDi at a special introductory "mirrored" rate.
All in for both cars is £800. (Thats full comp with all teh extras available except track day cover because its the only one they dont do!).
The excess is low too, cant remember how much but it still beat all the others.
None of the other companies would do me a deal like this and all quoted me £800 for the Griff alone. Golf alone is about £300 with the 5 years NCD.
TESCOS =
b'stads!
I called them for quotes and they offered me a mirrored poliicy. This was before I bought a Griff. I called agian before viewing a car and it was still all OK. Then when i called to set it up when I was about to purchase they told me they had never done mirrored policies and never would! I was fuming!
I was on the phone to them for ages and spoke to the highest person in charge I could. All they could do was say sorry but it wasn't enough as I was about to buy the car.
Fortunately Direct Bell (who have been very good in the past) saved me.
Just so as to keep this post on PH though. I still have my cats insured with Tescos and had to make a big claim recently. They were very sympathetic and paid out quickly and with out any issues. So they cant be all that bad.
Just be careful and get it all in writting.

We've done it before.
MC
didnt think of asking about the tapes but Im sure they said they had absolutly no details of a mirrored policy and denied ever giving me one!
Cheeky b'stads.
I called Bell Direct back 3 times to confirm what i had was correct. I still wasnt satisfied till I got the paperwork through. The tiny amount of confidence I had in car insurance companies was shattered by Tescos but has been partially restored by Bell Direct.
However, they still wont do trackdays.

Also, I want insurance for all trackdays, not just TVRCC ones.
Is it only Liverpool Victoria that do this?
sunninghill mate. very good price and mirrored NCB - covers ALL trackdays.
I went with Mannings (mix up) and they also gave a great price (akin to sunninghill) and mirror NCB but only cover me on TVRCC trackdays.
Quite a few companies do "introductory" discounts which match full no claims (60%+) - I had this when I got my motorhome insured and retained my NCD on my Griff.
I also found that some places that gave big introductory bonues were in some instances more expensive than companies who didn't give any discount, so it's worth phoning around and getting a quote even if they don't state that the do "mirrored" policies.
I think for general track day cover, Sunninghill are the people to go for though.
ETA: What I'd do would be to get the Griff insured with Sunninghill using all your NCD, and then keep phoning around to get the cheapest quote for the Golf elsewhere.

Problem is that Mannings only do TVRcc track day cover and there are a lot of independents now doing track days...TMS started running them in conjuction with Steve Guglielmi's company.
Even with Sunninghill they specify that the track days have to be approved by certain 'bodies'
Ed has a good idea, but do check the trackday requirements that Sunninghill insist on before you sign on the dotted line!!!
...//P// Thanks all. I report back with what happens.
I did loads of phoning around at the beginning (you know me, Mr impulse buyer!) but didnt consider the fact Id be deperate to get on a track so soon!
It was only when I phoned for seperate track insurance the other day that I realised it would be cheaper to get a policy that had it included.

hello Fella's. Just renewed my insurance and it has risen dramatically over the last TWO years ie £100 a year with no claims made
When I queried this fact I was told that it was a result of how insurance companies profiled TVR drivers due to so many accidents. So same old story I get hammered in the wallet for the sake of other muppets
For those of you who can't handle the car do me and everyone else a favour and trade down

They would have told you that whatever car you drive!
I believe the real reason is that the bloke at the top could do with another £48billion so he can bath in Champagne twice a day.
The other reason is probably the compensation culture.
shop around,
shop around,
shop around,
shop up shop up and get down!
