Tamora prices...

Tamora was always viewed as a bit of a "Marmite" car.
Not everyone liked the bulbous rear end. Personally, I think that in the right colour combo they can look stunning, the shorter overhangs compared to the other T cars make them very compact.
They were released as the spiritual sucessor to the Griffith - soft top, short(er) body on T car chassis with the Speed 6.
I like my Tuscan though ;-) !

As previously stated, the styling was and still is an acquired taste. I found myself discussing this with Craig at Track v Road the other day; he doesn't like them, whereas of all the stunning machinery in their showroom at the moment, the Tam is the one that stole the show for me. Its easy to see how it might be construed to be an ugly design - with a Griff/Chim/Cerb, the lines are traditionally simple and beautiful - the Tam does admittedly look a touch more awkward in places, but the whole design as a package just seems to work.
And to think there's cars for as little as £12995, they really are performance bargains.

Moi? Maybe I have an S6 engined car already, and this is to be my track day toy.
Whilst I love TVRs, the basic service cost is insane compared to an LSx engine. Plus when the Sag is fully done, it's estimated to be around 475, compared to 500+bhp, a lighter engine than the S6 (those maintaining costs as well) - and the final bill is comparable to a Power/Racing Green rebuild.
I'm lucky enough to be able to have both ends of the spectrum. And who said I never drove it?

Sorry. I mixed the your post with DrTre's and the inference from this comment "I managed to get one for under £12k, and then I'm having an LS3 put into it". Hope you enjoy it.Whilst I love TVRs, the basic service cost is insane compared to an LSx engine. I test drove one when I was looking to replace my 'broken' Tuscan.
It felt realy planted. Unfortunately the boot is far too small for my requirements and so I finealy bought another Tuscan.
I agree with the comments, they can look a little off from some angles but they are a trully great package in my mind.
I was close to making an offer on this one until my Wife found my Tuscan Convertible.

That's a great colour for a Tamora. If the Tamora had been sold with T350 headlights I think it would have sold in better numbers. They just look too "old school" for a modern TVR. Having said that it's still in my eyes the best overall package for a 2 seater sports car. I would have put the Tuscan 1st but the handling is sh!te.

When it came out I was 'almost' in a position to actually buy a new TVR. Then I saw it. Graet car don't get me wrong but why does a front engined/rear wheel drive car look like it's rear engined? That rear is just wrong and too fussy around the exhausts. I hung on and bought an 'almost' new T350 instead. Now if only it had that sort of rear end/exhaust arrangment it might have sold a few more, me included.

Thanks for that piece of information..........my bank account is now desperately running for cover
typo correction due to trying to control bank account whilst posting

cheers guys.
I do agree the rear lets it down, it is too fussy and a bit on the bulbous side the front though...I think it's one of the best styling exercises in many moons.
I'm slightly confused though...is my mind playing tricks on me or did this not initially have "bike exhausts" akin to end cans?!
