No fans hot or cold in Tuscan

Thought i would post this in here as it probably applies to most tvr's.

I am not getting any air movement whatsoever when i turn the fans on. I can hear a slight humming which i think is coming onand off when the fans are turned on but i can't be 100%.

I am getting a click when i turn air con on.

Although there is no air movement coming out i do think there is heat as ever so slowly i can clear the screen and it does warm up ever so slightly.

I notice that the vent flaps in the middle aren't opening.

So what could it be? I have checked all fuses and are ok.

Have a look at the terminals on the heater control unit up behind the dash on the pasenger side. Usualy one of the terminals gets hot and melts the plastic around it because it has had a bad connection and this usualy stop's the heater motor from working. Clean up the terminals and re-try your heater. If i can be of any more help then give me a shout from my web site on my profile.

I had a look and while the pins on the actual unit look ok, the wires going into the plug have melted the plastic slightly, its a bit dark to see now but i'll check it out properly

If you just need the plastic plug (loom side) I have some spares for £2.50 each inc P&P, as you have to buy £20 min order from Farnell for spot orders. See my post for details if you need all the bits

Well, i got them working today but theres a bad connection somewhere, possibly the plug i think as if you move it about it comes on and off.

It also stops working if i adjust from hot to cold or vice versa and then takes maybe 15secs to come back on so i'm not sure if this is down t the plug, i suspect it is.

The delay from cold/hot OR hot/cold is fine, this is when the heater flap moves position. Your diagnosis of the fault is correct. the plug is fooked and needs replacing and the pins need cleaning up to ensure a good contact between the heater amp and plug.

The more you run it (without repairing it) especially when the fan is not on full, the greater the risk of the plug connection melting together, then its a bigger job and more expensive as the heater amp will need repair too. The poor conection generates more load/heat.
