Hi There,

My Cerbera drivers side window motor is getting a bit slow...could be and earth or just the motor getting tired. Before I launch into it ...

I have a couple of spare window motors from some a Chimaera's, I know that the window mechanism will be different, but are the motors interchangeable?

They look the same just wondered if it has been asked before.

Thanks in advance

Steve

No idea about the Chim/Cerb compatibility, but if they are the same this might help;

Thanks Bill,

I think I didd this when I re-trimmed the car as the beginning of the year...I know that connections can fail...had one of the proximty switches on the passenger side go recently that was a head scratcher too..

Was planning for worse case scenario, as with these things as I plan to keep both my chimaera and cerbera it's handy to know that one size fits all ...well sort of if you see what I mean...

I whipped an image off ebay (bellhill) are selling a drivers side motor on there, I compared to the spare one I have off a chimaera (have a spare drivers door if anyone needs one,kept glass and motors for the future) look like the same unit to my untrained eye...

Err see where you are coming from herehehe....was just trying to get a quick answer matey, anyway took a phone call of Adrian Venn yesterday, he refurbs them (plus wiper motors), and knows about these things, it would appear as tho they are interchangeable (motor wise), that motors are "handed" and there are a couple of variants, metal or plastic case units...hehe

All good then

Hi Steve.There's a couple of threads on the Cerb forum about window motor speed & they cured theirs by cleaning contacts thoroughly.It was down to voltage drops caused by dirty connections.

Just a thought,coz as you know...I know fur call!

See ya soon.
