I though the Blue Ridge Mountains were in Virginia - or so Laurel and Hardy claimed !
Says North Carolina on the 'About' page.

"In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia,
On the trail of the lonesome pine—
In the pale moonshine our hearts entwine,
Where she carved her name and I carved mine;
Oh, June, like the mountains I'm blue—
Like the pine I am lonesome for you,
In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia,
On the trail of the lonesome pine."

They are a good deal larger than that smile
Most US states are relatively small entities within a much larger geographical context.
(Just don't tell any Texans I said that).

The Blue Ridge is over 500 miles long, across 8 states!
