New Sagaris at £100k a bargain???

Hello All,
Just got my copy of this months EVO magazine - there is a feature on the forthcoming Lotus Evora GTE which looks like Lotus will finally give us something to get the blood pumping in the same way a TVR does. It does not give any performance figures -but given the power they are quoting and the car has carbon fibre everything - you would expect a power to weight ratio comparable to a Sagaris. The Evora GTE looks the part also however price is £120k which surely makes a brand new Sagaris from TVR Power bargain of the century??!!!

As much as I am a TVR fanboy the Evora will be an up to date car technology wise with 'carbon everything' whereas a 'new' Sagaris regardless of its spectacular looks is very much old tech with it's scaffolding chassis and is in desperate need of some advancement to make it worth £100K IMHO.

It's not always the "state of the art" stuff that adds value to cars though is it? Doesn't prevent Morgans with old school technology achieving £100k plus does it? YRRunner said:

I don't think you'll find there's much old school stuff in the Aero, unless of course I'm mistaken and they were bonding aluminum extrusions with epoxy adhesives and using vacuum suction to form panels 100 years ago

Very small article in Classic Cars Feb issue- D Tricket quoted as saying 3 cars ordred from continent despite negativity towards Smolenski (in the UK). Also acknowledges that the the relaunch website is "mainly to gauge reaction".Does anyone know whether a single order has been placed for one of the new (or "reborn") TVRs yet?
Bit more on the V8 conversions to existing cars etc and a "20 car Sagaris Challenge series".
I'm only quoting here and not giving any opinions.

The thing is our friends on the Continent are seeing buying anything in the UK as a bit of a bargain at the moment, particularily if you have CHF in your wallet 
Or Euros under the mattress. 
Lots and lots of paper money being spent here at present.
I'm relatively sure they are expecting no orders for new cars over here but the refurb with a Chevy and a new badge seems like a very good deal which is the product aimed at us lot.
If I wanted a new Griff or Chim I'd be a fool not to look at buying a lump of junk for a few grand and sending it to Coventry for a rebuild at the prices they are quoting.

Associating themselves with that isn't going to do them any favours IMO.

It's not so much an association as a legal partnership. Like it or not, Dom and Smolensky ARE TVR and are fused at the hip. Associating themselves with that isn't going to do them any favours IMO.
