I hope Patrick has a picture of the drug dealer Merc coupe I sold him which came in as a part exchange on a Cerbera.

The deal went something like this...

Merc in black with full AMG kit comes in..I have the option of taking a new Cerbera, Tuscan, Chimaera home and see that bad boy in the car park.....

Urmmmm.. The Merc it is..I get home stick it on the drive all proud as punch and my wife opens the door and says

`What the **** are you driving that pimp mobile for!'

I rang Patrick at 9am and said I had the ideal car to cruise down to London in everyday and be left alone whereever he parked..

He turned up with his wife Sharon looking unimpressed.
I gave him the keys he then drove up the road wheelspinning it and powersliding it up the road in front of all the TVR customers.

It came back twenty minutes later turning a totally unsmoked car into something with all its ashtrays overflowing.

Patrick chucked his American Express card across the desk and said

`I'll take it'

Quality...

Best bit was that I gave that car the hammering of a lifetime for 40+k and then sold for only 500 quid less than i had paid for it, with a screwed ECU that merc wanted 4.5k to replace Quality indeed.

I seem to remember towards the end of your ownership of the pimp mobile... chucking the amex at people seemed to be a requirement everytime you took it out

I think the fact I knew the road and the blind bends, and the bridge, and the duck pond, etc, etc, in the rain, etc, etc, was what slowed me down any more excuses in your 'big book of racing driver excuses' book I can borrow, 'for sure'

Plus Patrick and his soft rock album full tilt, a 235Bhp death machine and harry potter screaming in the passenger seat in Houx..

The fact that every time you asked him on the way to Lemans 2000 if it was clear to overtake and he said no you just went anyway..

I know I was crap at that go karting meeting but there was something very comforting about the way you tried to overtake me on the overside at full power and I used your entire car as a brake to push you off the track and take me round the corner...

it was the only time I have seen you stop smiling in ages..
