Photos of Chim seat internals......

Under the seat you will find very thin wires across the under side, on this sits the foam and yes you guessed it its like a cheese wire the wire cuts into the foam. I put some 1mm plastic between the wire and the foam. Haven't put the seats back in yet but sat on the floor the driver seat was so much better.
Here is a photo of the underside of one I had lying around

To resolve the majority of the sagging you will probably need to replace the support wires that are strung across the base of the seat. Yours are probably all rusty too like those in the photo above. If they rust and break then the foam will sit on the floor of the car and the seams on the base of the seat will rip open.
When replacing the wire place a couple of layers of hessian fabric between the seat foam and the wires. This will help spread the load which should reduce the amount they cut into the foam and the seat from sagging again.

Good to see TVR's powder coating on the seat runners is as good as the rest of their metalwork !To resolve the majority of the sagging you will probably need to replace the support wires that are strung across the base of the seat. Got the seats out real easy - cut a bit of the material away for colour sampling for the furniture clinic seat restorer pack I intend to buy.
However, one of the wires has come loose (rusted and then snapped) - anyone know what type of wire this is and where I can get some?
Gonna go and shop around for for platic sheeting now...
Thanks in advance

I had my Chim seats 'fettled' by a local trimmers in Southampton. The called the 'wire' thing a diaphragm. What they did was to string some heavy duty rubber/elastic webbing (about 30mm wide) between the frame(s) as they couldn't get hold of a new wire diaphragm....I think it was a better than new fix for the problem. However, one of the wires has come loose (rusted and then snapped) - anyone know what type of wire this is and where I can get some?

Might be worth making a few enquiries?
