Austec - Anyone used them?

I'm going to be sending my Cerbera for a head gasket change and any other work required and so far they seem to come out best on price, plus they have a collection and delivery service which is handy for a non-running car.

Has anyone used them before and what did you think of their service and work?

I've used them before and would use them again, but there are those on here that only have negative things to say about them.

For work on a Cerbera, have you tried Andy at APM?

Andy at APM is currently doing the headgasket on my AJP, he is pretty well regarded as a cerbera expert.

+1 for APM though, he'll be getting my Cerb in for it's next service although Austec is much closer for me which is why I'll use them for other stuff.

Same here! Nothing else positive to add, though as Doddsy says they may now have changed ownership.

Thanks for your replies, I called APM this morning and had a chat with Andy. I'm happy with the prices he quoted so as soon as I'm ready I'll book the car in with him.

Has anyone had their AJP head gasket done by him? If so what work was carried out and what was the final bill?

I used Austec last year, They collected my car, kept me updated what was being done. I used them to set my suspension up after i poly bushed it and dropped my car off too. Definitely use them again.

Austec were my garage of choice for my Chimaera but that is nigh on 10 years ago now! There was a chap called Paul as I recall who was an owner and I always felt I was getting a good honest service.

I have recently had APM recommended to me. Checked the website today and it was down so I was glad to read that they are still answering the phone.

My Cerb is booked in for the 8th Feb, can't wait to get her back on the road. It's been less then a week and I'm already missing driving her.
