Just heard that some TVR owner in Ilkley (I think it was) had been drink driving and crashed into another car causing fatalities. Anybody know anything about this?

Roy.

I live about 5 miles away, nothing on the local news.

I really hope this is some kind of urban myth.

I know 3 TVR owners in Ilkley. One of them has his car at my garage at the moment. The other doesn't take it out at night and is past that sort of thing. I will email the other now to see if he knows anything.

It was covered in the local paper, the female passenger in the TVR was fataly injured after the car hit a tree, no mention of another car or drinking

Wow. I never knew it was against the law to give a cyclist a good shoeing. I thought it was an ancient tradition like Morris Dancers at a village fair

I've just spoken to a friend of the people involved in the accident. I have an outline of what happenend and why. I'm not sure whether Ted would want the speculation of 'why' posting as this is effectively hearsay. The driver wasn't someone I know, nor do I feel that this is the right place to publish names.

However, the facts are tragic, one passenger has died, one is in intensive care following both legs being amputated, the driver has some minor injuries.

The local press have stated that the driver is male aged 41 and based in Ilkley.

I cannot pass on any details, the lady I spoke to is a friend of the girl that was killed. I cannot be 100% certain the information supplied by her is correct, she could be making assumptions about the owner/driver. Given the circumstances surrounding the accident I don't want to get involved with something that could be potentially libelous for Ted.

It will probably help you understand the view I've taken once the full facts are published.

This is a tragic accident and should be a wake up call for all of us.

Take it easy one and all, have a good weekend.
