Scamander Rapid Response Vehicle

Has it got the 2.0 Zetec in it or did it get the TVR RV8 that was mentioned in an article I read?
I'd love one, perfect for buggering about the island
No Ford V6 256 bhp auto and 1350kg, very nimble.
Why the electric door option? Surely more weight to carry around than a manual slide? Also a lot slower... especially if raining/snowing/attack from trolls etc?
Yes but, Although this a prototype, the intention is that this will be a very exclusive and premium product. Gearing the canopy speed up is no drama and prior to the impeller being fitted, the car only weighed 1015kg (lighter than a road going Tuscan). 1350Kg (current weight) for a 2.1m wide vehicle; this is very lightweight compared to existing vehicles with similar capabilities. The canopy drive weighs 4.2kg, so is not a major weight Contributor really.
Great to see it finished. A fitting tribute to PW.
I assume there are no plans to manufacture it for the market as I can't see any uses
or scenarios it might be used that aren't already in existence.
It is not exactly rapid once afloat.
Looks fun though.
There are plans to manufacture in limited numbers. As far as market is concerned; It's essentially a pick up truck which is the best selling vehicle Genre globally. This rendition is the concept vehicle and with a little watering down as per the norm, will appeal to a considerable market. Unlike the gibbs Aquada that is 50% car, 50% boat the Scamander brief was to be able to cross water at 8 knotts when necessary. The emphasis is really on the off and on road capabilities. Perhaps 90% sporting off-road convertible pick-up truck, 5% boat and 5% sculpture. Very much functional but with the ability to surprise and delight. Your quite right, it's a perfect tribute to PW.

What is the Scamander's top speed on land ?
Doesn't look half as extreme though !

Later it came out that the occupents had lost teeth, broken arms and been knocked unconcious while inside.

Scamander....... Any chance of coming to the Neil Garner Open Day on Easter Saturday - Cotswold Event 070412 - Not sure if you have seen the postings on the TVR events forum. As this is a free TVR Open Day event as the last postings say, we have currently 60 cars present (make that over 75 with others not putting their names down) at present. Mainly TVRs at the event However, we are on the look out for crowd pullers from this non money making event. We have two (hopefully three) Typhons coming, The Swordfish Tuscan, a race going T440 from Gaydon museum plus TVR stalls including D&C Trim all the way from Blackpool in the north and Carl Baker ( the alarm specialist) from the south coast.
It would really put the icing on the cake if you could come. We even had the chance of the Speed 12 kindly loaned by Graham Abbott, but due to transportation costs, this has beaten us. If a 'YES' we of course would give this magnificent 'one off' pride of place!

I will ask the question and get back to you. The Scamander was at Gaydon this week, I didn't know there was a T440 there as I was in a different building. I'll have to pop in, used to be just BL, Landrover etc last time I was in there.Scamander.......
