Which TVR to hire

Hi I'm looking at hiring a TVR for the day from this company: http://www.southwestsportscars.co.uk/tvr-hire-cars...

I'm not much of an expert on them so I'd like your advice on which will be the most fun and best/easiest to drive. The options are:

2003 TVR Tuscan MK1 3.6
2000 TVR Tuscan Red Rose 4.0
1997 TVR Griffith 500
1982 TVR Tasmin 2.8

Either of the tuscabs i'd say. But then i am biased

That said i think i should start hiring mine out at £500 a weekend!

It's going to be my Dad driving it unfortunately as I'm under 25 . But he hasn't driven any TVRs before

Yes I was thinking one of the tuscans, not sure which though.

Hiring certainly would be a good profit maker, wouldn't lend mine out to just anyone though if I owned one!

We did a similar thing with an E-Type a few years ago, he drove that. Other than that, nothing out of the ordinary

For the best noise it has to be the griff, but i have a chim 500 so my choice will be tuscan.

The Tuscs will bite hardest if you are too liberal with the throttle but IMO give a better sense of occasion as the shape is mmmm and the interior is pretty unique esp the MK1.

Griff is great for the V8 noise and loads of torque from low revs.

Tasmin will feel the most dated.

Tusc for me, but I chose one of those to buy so must have preferred it.

Of the Tuscs, either will do

Griff probably the easiest to drive, all are fun

It seems the Tuscans are the favourite (Me too) So which out of the two if they're both availiable. Is there a noticeable difference between the 3.6 and 4.0? the website does say that the 2003 3.6 is in better exterior condition

If you have never driven a Tuscan you won't notice the performance difference. On the road you are unlikely to be exploring the upper reaches of power. 4.0 will have a little more low down torque. But the engines of the same size vary quite a bit so don't get hung up on engine. On paper the S is the quickest and has close ratio box and bigger brakes (probably). The2000 car wil have the twitchiest handling.

For a one day hire i don't think you will get to explore either to there full potential and both are more than plenty quick on the road.

And il bet you will find both engines are really making around the same BHP any ways
