Carpet in the passenger footwell is wet - In fact its soaked (currently drying on the washing line)

Any suggestions on where it might be coming in?????

Door seal, wiper mechanism, up thru' the seat or battery box mounting bolt holes, coolant from the pipes above the footwell............

Wiper Mechanism out come the sikaflex

I don't think it can be seat mounts or b/box - car hasn't been used in the wet


I assume trial and error with the hosepipe is necessary

I've had, and to some extent still have, got a similar with my Griff. When it chucks it down the drivers side door seal at the front can't cope with the water that's supposed to run over the 'pinched' part of the seal, and then comes into the footwell and soaks the carpet. Copes ok when it's light rain/drizzle but not when it rains very hard, like it does a lot this summer.

I've tried altering it so there's a larger area for the water to run over but it's not exactly the best fix in the world. Think I need need new door seals to be honest as the whole drivers side one is fked! The whole design and way they're supposed to function is in my opinion an absolute pile of crap!!

Check the seatbelt hasn't been caught in the door. This has caused my carpets to get soaked in the rain. I spent ages trying to find a leak that only happened sometimes when it rained heavily until I picked up on the pattern!

Im fortunate enough not to know the titles of the songs!

I have heard (or perhaps read in the bible) that the holes for the ID plates under the bonnet can cause leaks into the foot wells. On the Griff they are on the drivers side though.

Could it perhaps be a windscreen seal problem?
How about hosing the car down to look for the leak.

It wont be the Battery box or Seat Bolts. When i replaced them i used marine sealant.

Cant think where its coming in but try the windscreen.

You mean it hasn't been outsie in the wet or driven in the wet?

If the latter then it's not rain ingress that's the problem, so would have to be coolant or washer fluid.
