I wonder if its the sort of sight that only does the taking the money from you type selling.

The sight reminds me of a dodgy market stall selling mobile phone accesories, watches and disco lights.

Edited to add: and shiny disco balls

Hmmm. Do I detect a script that responds to a search request and inserts the name of the car in the appropriate place?

Try it with a different car manufacturer and see if you get exactly the same page but with appropriate substitutions.

Curious.

There used to be a greasy spoon in Slough that had a sex shop out the back.

If you went round there, a portly chap in a greasy apron used to walk out of the kitchen and into the sex shop along with a surly 'What'll it be gents?'

All very odd...

A friend of mine had a 'piggy back' chip fitted to his td5 defender. it made a huge diference. wheel spun all four wheels in all gears. didnt harm the engine and was completely reversable. not sure i would use one on a tvr but a rattly old landrover, sure.

oh, never looked at any of those reviews on PH before. In fact, I think I have only ever looked at gassing and classifieds. seems they are a good bit of kit then and a cheap price

I have a piggyback microprocessor-based tuning thingamujig on the Corrado. I was badly advised, to be honest, as a traditional EPROM-based remap would have been just as good.

I can assure you it cost somewhat more than £4.95 though. It was more like £400 including the remap.

Q. My TVR model is turbocharged, will it work ?
A. Sorry this will not work with turbocharged TVR cars.

And the example power curve:

They seem very confident that it'll work considering they haven't tried it on a TVR yet. And they don't seem to know much about TVRs either. As for the power curve, that would be one ill TVR!

Dodgy Website said:
Q. Will this fit on my particular TVR model ?
A. If your TVR is equipped with electronic fuel injection, it will. 99% of cars manufactured after in or after 1988 are equipped with a fuel injection. It will however not work on turbocharged vehicles.

Dodgy Website said:
Q. Will this device damage my car ?
A. Absolutely not. Since the altered signal will always stay within TVR's specifications, there is no way for your engine to get damaged in any way.

Interesting!

So this chip will fit on any TVR from an S1.5/S2 to a Typhon (only mentions turbocharged, not supercharged), but it will somehow know the specifications for whatever engine it's fitted to, be that Ford V6, Rover V8, AJP8 or Speed 6!
