I'm sure Matt won't mind me posting this up now a couple of days early but Matt Smith, the extremely talented TVR mechanic from Sebring International has now left the company to start up on his own, the cunningly named Mat Smith Sports cars will now be based in Downham Market and open for business as from Monday.

He's looked after my cars for the past 6 years and is a brilliant technician as well as also servicing the cars of many PHers and TVRCC members. I'm not affiliated to him in any way other than as a very happy customer but for current Sebring users he can now be found here;

I heard this the other day. Great news and I wish him lots of luck with the new venture.

Matt has looked after my Tuscan 2S for the last couple of years at Sebring and has always done a fantastic job. I would thoroughly recommend him to anyone.

I for one will certainly be giving him my business and I'm almost due a service so am looking forward to seeing the new place.

Another thumbs up here as wellthumbup
Have used Mat since 2006 on all of my TVR`s, and wouldn`t entrust them to anyone else. Top bloke and very down to earth. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and always happy to chat over any issues with you. Good luck

Never used Matt before but £620 all in for a 12K with tappets on a S6 car is blinding value.

Nice Chap smile Would have used Bespoke Performance, but just too far for me to go as on limited mileage, so spoke to Matt, following previous owners recommendation. He is a decent chap, really passionate and a lot of patience smile Dom from TVR Power also recommended him, so next week I drive 30 mins and he fit's my new JP exhaust, does the tappets, aligns my doors, fits my silicon hoses, and sorts my throttle play out smile I felt he was honest with his assessment of the work needed, and was flexible in terms of the cost, which is greatly appreciated.

Another bonus is his premises is right next to a tire fitters, mot test centre and a body shop that is experienced with TVR's.

Hailing from Madchester im too far away to call on Matt for any work, but i can confirm that he's a great bloke and i know from (bitter hehe) experience that he can set up a very quick Tuscan race car , and i wish him well in his new venture.

I'm booked in for my Cerb's 12k service, dropping the car off on Saturday. Thanks for this Tony, without this thread I wouldn'thave known he was up and running.

Matt has looked after mine and my Dad's TVRs for years and I've always been very impressed with his quality of work, attention to detail and enthusiasm. So much so I used to take my Griff 500 and Tuscan S to him for servicing and mods when I was living in Swindon!

I dropped by Sebring to see Matt and drop the Tuscan S (now my Dad's) off for some work with my Dad when I was back at Christmas visiting friends and family (I moved to Sydney in late 2010). He's always got time for a chat wink

I cannot recommend him highly enough and wish him all the best with his new venture.

Why not go back to the dealer under warranty though?

This is great news and a useful thread. Downham is just up the road from me and I had already had recommendations about Matt from other members so this is most definitely the place I will be going.

I just dropped my Cerb off with Mat for its 12k service. I'd heard lots of good things about the guy but hadn't met him before, now, having done so I know my car's in great hands! Already looking forward to getting it back next Saturday. smile
