Evening all. A friend was offered a nice wee Griff 500 with a major engine failure. Major issues. It will probably need a full rebuild.. It's a 97, it's ok looking. I've still to look under the car to check the chassis condition.. So worst case scenario what do you think it's worth. As a project.

Normal price for year and condition less £4k for rebuild of engine would be a fair price.

Kinda thought that. It's in Yorkshire so next plan nip down and give it a good check over.

This, although I would seriously consider stretching the budget a bit further (another £1k or so) and getting Dom to put one of his Taraka engines in complete with the 3 year warranty.

Depends of you are doing the work or not. If the chassis needs doing and an engine rebuild plus all the extra bits that would need doing then could cost £6-7k at a garage.
