If resale value is your measurement you're never going to convince your accountant it was a good value project JD.

Would not take any of that Jap plastic over my LS Griff or 350c! Driving iether of my car's is an epic event, an assault on the senses!And as for all the electric driver aids thats what my daily drivers all about. Lost count of what i've spent now, but the one thing you can't buy and was there from the start in both my TVR's is soul!

At approaching 500bhp/tonne what could I possibly change it for (this side of £250k)?

Jammy, you say yours will stand you at £35k ish. Is that not about the same as what they cost new. (many years ago). Yours now far exceeds any Chim that came out of the factory. yes you have had a costly set back but all in all you are going to have one hell of a car; for the same price that somebody once paid for it new years ago.

So looking at it from that angle, things aint too bad.

Blimey, this thread got me thinking about my Chim 450

Purchase price Jan 2006. £16,000
Nitrons £1,000
Supercharger, brakes etc. £7,500
Engine Rebuild. £6,500

Then there's 6 years servicing, tyres, clutch, new hood, hid lights. It adds up, to a fair few quid.

Still to do:
Dash, new ECU/re-map
Outriggers probably in the next couple of years

Do I regret it? Having covered 40k+ miles. Absolutely not, and I'm falling in love with it all over again
