Road-Trip Reliability - Cerbera Vs Tuscan?
Discussion
If anyone was considering going on a big road trip (and I mean travelling over the channel and driving around Europe), which car would you choose to be the most likely to get you home again? And why?
Lets say a Cerbera 4.5 VS a Tuscan Mk1 4.0 (with engine rebuild)
Not including little niggles, for example windows not working.
This isn't a topic on overall reliability, just the ability to get you home! And ease of roadside repairs?
Thought this would be a good discussion!

OK, my experience with my '04 Tuscan S:
2010: In chronological order: Trip to S.Ireland (Co.Cork)about 750mls in April - no issues. July - Classic LeMans, then extended stay in France for family holiday, about 1200mls - broke exhaust 'L' shaped support at extreme rear of car...fixed by local 'garagiste' for a pour boire of 20 euro. Pressure cap failed on cooling system. New one purchased at VAG dealership in LeMans for ~ 12 euro No other problems. September trip to Spa, 1100 mls, with my mate racing in classic Formula Ford @ Six Hours - windscreen wiper link bar snapped at ball socket. Hindsight says I could probably have got it welded by one of the teams (most had ginormous artic's, can't believe there wasn't a welder). Managed to avoid the rain on most days...and Rain-X worked fine. Fixed when I got home, Racing Green had the part for £50'ish.
2011: 7 day trip to Germany - Old Timer at Nurburgring, Saturday morning session on the 'Ring, then I visited a mate in Nuremburg, spent a few days with him. Then came home via Luxembourg to vary the driving/scenery. About 2000 mls no problems. (Although the s***e roads on the campsite probably signed the death warrant for my dampers).
Think the best advice on either car is to ensure a 'solid' service history with one of the respected garages, and both should be equally reliable.
