Found a 2.88 Paul, need to work out with a tko600 and 18" wheels what my gearing would be. Can anyone tell me how to work that out or software that can do it for me.

Thanks

Based on a 6000rpm redline :-

1st = 55mph, 2nd = 83mph, 3rd = 124mph, 4th = 160mph, 5th = 202mph (with enough bhp!!!)

with a .036 (the Griff being 0.344 supposedly) drag coefficient 520bhp is needed for the double ton, but the last few mph gets painfully slow acceleration wise so

520bhp would need about five miles to get there.

600bhp gets there in about a mile and a half.

Interesting stuff cheers Richard.

I'm building an ls turbo for a Chimaera redline should be 7000rpm what would that do for the gearing?? Not sure I would want to try top speed lol

Are you using some software to calculate this???

I can send you a spreadsheet that I used for mine (already has all the TKO600 ratios and the available final drives in it), but can't do attachments via PH mail. If you want to email me an address I'll send it on.

7000/6000=1.16667 (recurring, insert as many sixes in there as you like)

Just multiply the earlier numbers by 1.16666667 to get new in gear max speeds.

Yes, using Cartest2000 (have got lots of models of different combinations of gearboxes, diffs, engines and tyres in TVRs over the years!).
