So.........you've bought the Company........

I think the build quality would be first on most poeples list. It's not that they're all bad, just too many. New models should be tested a bit more in the real world, rather than odd bits being forgotten.
The market needs expanding. That probably requires designs that can take various bits of safety kit that they don't have now (airbags being a notable example). But, I'd like them to be options (or not offered) in the UK. The bottom line is that for the UK market a TVR should be cheap as chips and go like s
t of a shovel.
Oh, and let's keep the V8 thing going too. It's not that I can't see the merits of the S6 - Alf Essex has proved how good it can be - but my next TVR will have an AJP8 I reckon

.I'd invest in:
Galvanised chassis - possibly with automated construction. Chassis simply should not rust in this day and age.
Active Safety systems. The whole works. With the option of deleting some of them if purchasers want and sign the waiver...
I'd also consider (shock, horror) whether or not future models might use some aluminium panels...because its cheaper to make larger numbers of these vs GRP (I believe...).
I'd like to see TVR offer a 90,000 mile three year bumper to bumper warranty and mean it.

TVR need to distance themselves from this comedy friday afternoon kit car image they have with the public at large.
That's what they did with the Griffith back in 1991. Problem is, the rest of the world has made big strides in manufacturing (not necessarily engineering) quality since, and TVR is still struggling with the same quirks and inadequacies, with teething troubles on two designed-from-scratch engines dragging out over several years on top of that.
Add the fact that backing out on international safety equipment and emission reg standards has been basically limiting TVR to the whims of the UK market for the last five years at the very least, and probably cannot be sustained much longer there either, and you can see why a finance injection beyond the means of PW (and presumably someone rather less resistant to change, too!) was the only option really to keep the factory doors open for at least a couple more years.
After I'd stopped grinning like an idiot I'd look at the QA department, if I could find it I'd find out why some cars are utterly rock solid and yet others seem to be rubbish and try to eliminate the latter. I suspect that with a little effort and investment in procedure this could be done with great effect.
I'd then look at the chain, from parts supply to final delivery to see where positive changes could be made to improve quality and reduce costs.
Again I bet a fresh pair of eyes (mine if they pay me) could find a load of savings/improvements here.
I'd have a suggestion box at the factory, encourage the workforce to contribute then make sure I read and acted upon the suggestions. If TVR are not doing this now I guarentee this would bring very quick imprevements to the whole process.
There are shed loads of other things, these are the very obvious ones. However as I have no real idea of the state of play up there this is pure speculation.

TVR.
Whatever you do, please please please don't create a 4x4 or a 4 door car.
Stick with sports cars only, please.
Why?
Porsche have done it with massive success.
You hit 30, you've got the 911 but also the wife that wants kids.
What do you buy, another Porsche.
Keep 'em in brand by expanding your range to cover their needs.
TVR need to look past the two seater sports car concept because currently they have 4 cars all chasing the same order...
At the risk of ruffling a few feathers....
If TVR are to build a different class of car, I think it should be an entry level sports car. It would have to take on the MX5, MG F class (maybe S2000). If they keep to core values this could be a winner...think ELISE but with a TVR engine note and styling.
It would sell to lots more people and so raise the profile of the company and perhaps even profits. Think how popular the MG F is/was (and that car is a pile of **&^*!)
