Surprising compliment

real life never fails to surprise me. Stopped off at the local shell station at lunchtime to fill up with the usual optimax. I've finished filling and a car pulls alongside, couple of old dears in it. One gets out to start filling up, the other, sat in the passenger side, sits there looking at my car.

I go and pay, and when getting back in my car, the old dear in the passenger seat pipes up,

"nice car"

To which I reply

"thanks"

Now bearing in mind she was rathered old and well spoken, the next comment made me laugh out loud

"bet it goes like sh*t off a shovel!"

What could I say. Just goes to show you shouldn't judge by appearances...

Class! Pure class! Old dears obviously have surprisingly good taste. I just hope that don't start driving TVRs.
