Battery upgrade required?
Discussion
The last few drag racing meetings i have been to the car has performed well but has also suffered. Not due to hard track action.... it loves that
Normally the car runs very smooth thanks to mapping of the megasquirt by Dale at Bailey performance.
When I am at the dragstrips I need to use a bottle heater to warm the nitrous bottles up to full pressure. The heater is 225 watts and draws 20 Amps. In the recent cold weather this has had to work overtime and is having an effect on the normal running of the car until i can run the engine for some time without the heater and all returns to normal. In the fire up lanes the idle is lower and stalling occurs. I also notice the wideband showing weak numbers unless i rev the engine. Obviously not ideal while preparing to race.
Question is... would a better battery help? For example a Powervamp 40 maybe http://www.powervampracing.com/detail.asp?ID=26

Can I come at this with a different idea..
A booster battery to power the heater..(not carried in car during race)
and a light battery for the car. I presume idea placement is just in front
of the rear axle close to centre as possible but I'm no drag race expert.
If you do know any drag race experts give me their names A booster battery to power the heater..(not carried in car during race)

All options are welcomed. I like the idea of fitting the thinner Powervamp in the footwell, giving the passenger more legroom and refitting the original battery in the boot. More weight towards the back aint a bad thing
