What did you do this weekend?
Discussion
I cleaned the Chim on Friday, drove to the opening of TVRS and met a few old faces and a few new ones. Good to see Perry Waddams and Andy Race and give them some tips..... sorry i meant get some tips. My new tyres had arrived so i found a National Tyre spot in Tauntton. Only took them 90 minutes to fit the Federals. One of the 265's didnt want to play and took a good soaping numerous times before it gave in to the rimming.
A slight detour on the route back to my sisters took me to a garden centre to pick up a new tent for a better standard of living most weekends this summer then through Cheddar gorge which is always nice. The Tomtom packed up because the fag lighter socket had dropped into the door so had to use my superb Male old school navigation skills.
On Sunday morning drove from Somerset to Drayton Manor and picked up more points to put me in 2nd place running in the NSCC. Hundreds of rods and customs to look at but i was readyto leave about 1.
So this is where the brainwave / cockup comes in. I got my wires crossed and thought there was a race meeting on at Shakey. I turned up and thought something was wrong as i paid £8 to someone ive never seen before. Thanfully it wasnt so bad. A model airshow. Very very nerdy affair but awesome also. I had a beer and a good time. Then back down to Portsmouth.
They even give me a temp pass and let me bring the Chim onto the naval base today.

Hi Derek
I saw you this weekend at Big Col's is what i did !! Glad you got the tyres sorted in the end mate, even if it was in Taunton not Wellington.... Great to see the Chim in all it's glory. Sounds like the weekend went great for you, even if Sunday wasn't what you expected...... ! Are you sure you're not giving up on TVR's to indulge in your new hobby ?!

I used to build balsa gliders as a kid and it was good to see the models. I reckon the average age of the 'enthusiasts' must have been 60 at least but i can understand why they love it. I even filmed the Lancater Bomber. Some of these so called models were 1/4 scale with 15 foot wingspans. Some even sounded good with 5 cylinder engines. I must admit i was temtped at buying a kit

Hey Derek, "the grass did'nt grow under your feet at the weekend did it"!!!, saw you and your new tyres at the open day, how did they perform.
The tyres seem ok for now but i havent pushed them yet.The car was fully loaded from my sisters to drayton so the rears did hit the arches 3 or 4 times on bad dips in the road.
I will give them a proper test at Mallory Park this Saturday. car emptied of all unecessary weight and the nitrons turned up a few clicks.

Not sure if we will meet on track tho. IIRC my slot is G.
I will probably be on track in the hotrod slot also.
I am hoping there will be additional places to be had on the day.
Does this mean i better bring some cash?

Stripped down the front suspention on my sisters VRS to have new bearings pressed in, washed the SEAC for the Fast Lane Show at Corbridge, it was a cold but a dry day and we had over 25 plus tivs lined up.
There was a good line up of different cars... then the reality sets in...back to work.
