Anybody read this month's EVO magazine, it mentions the Speed 12 being in Vicky Wheeler's garage - does she own the car now? Just out of interest.

It depends which Speed 12 they're referring to if it's the Speed 12 Cerbera then no she doesn't it's owned by Graham Abbot.

However, there are rumours circulating that one of the original Speed 12 cars is back in the hands of the Wheeler estate.

This rumour has been flying around for a while. Wonder what they're going to do with it?

Thats odd, I spoke to Vicky Wheeler (now vicky Oyston) only last week about the Speed 12 after reading Bill Smith (Bluebird project guy) had returned it to the Wheelers in 2009. She told me she knew nothing about it and that Brian at Lawfield Engineering took care of all there cars. I emailed Brian about it and he confirmed he looked after all the Wheeler/Oyston cars but didn't know where the Speed 12 was.

Is this the one in Evo?
No, it looks like the one starting reg no. W112 ??? - is it cherry apple colour???

It shows it being housed in one of the garages at Bristol Avenue. I was up at D&C trim a month ago but Chris didn't mention the Speed 12 being next door-ish.

The names Graham Browne and Brian Hosfield are mentioned in the write up of the Scamander

Any help???

Brian Hosfield's Lawfield Engineering is at Bristol Avenue. They are doing the work on Graham Abbotts Cerbera Speed 12. Makes sense now. They perhaps are just refereing to Lawfield Engineering as Vicky Wheeler's garage as they look after her cars.

I'd still like to find out where the original is.

W112 BHG is the red Speed12 Cerbera. That is owned by Graham Abbott and is up at Bristol Avenue for engine repairs.
Graham is also having another car assembled from original parts (see other threads on here) but with an engine based on the V12 Aston block, that car is also at Bristol Avenue and is being built by Brian and Jon Greenwood.

The Scamander was built by a different team also at Bristol avenue and Graham Brown was part of that team, although I think Brian and Jon are making that roadworthy at the moment as they attempt to sell the project.

The car in the picture was in the original Autocar piece on the original (and in my opinion best) Speed 12. I don't think that car exists anymore)

I suspect the rumour about the car being back in the Wheelers ownership was started by people who saw/heard that the car was at Bristol Avenue and making assumptions as said above.

The car shown in that picture is the Speed 12 motorshow car. There was also a white version of that that was actually a real car, and raced (it was later resprayed purple). The engine out of that racecar ended up in the first Cerbera Speed 12. As to where the shells/chassis are, that's the mystery, a mystery that needs solving!

The motorshow car was at the Bluebird place, we know that, but it went a while ago. Where is it now?

Also, where is the race car shell? Nobody seems to know this either. It'd be a great shame for these two pieces of TVR history to disappear completely. Someone will know something!
