Seems i may have to cut back on the TVR fun for a while as I have just been bagged with only 4 days notice 
Such is the cruel world of contracting.
Was going well upto now....
TVRs at Shakey
Winning the first NSCC meet at York
Coming 3rd in rounds 2 and 3 at York
Visit to TVRS and a drive through Cheddar Gorge
Visit to the Nats at Drayton Manor
A model airshow (by accident) was nice
Mallory Park
Santa Pod
and finally a visit to Prescott hillclimb on Saturday and a drive up the hill.
Ive got York this weekend coming so will raid the piggy bank for the fuel then its job hunting time i guess.

Thats contracting for you. If i had a much better offer then i wouldnt be too troubled at giving full notice either.

You gotta aim high at first, then let reality kick in later.... hopefully another contract place will come along soon.
Although last time i thought that i was out for 3 months! Those were bad times.

Ive worked mostly in Shipbuilding and Aerospace. Have used Tribon, CADDS5, Foran, Microstation, Autocad etc but am versatile and could pick up a new system easily.Design Engineer? Like Guillotine said, 'in what'? AutoCad/Solidworks - Metalwork?
On a serious note i would love a change. I know some guys that have been lucky enough to break into motor racing. Mclaren and Bugatti for example.

Red bull were hiring a few weeks ago, Williams too.
Often have design engineers listed.
have a punt, but long hours for regular money. Oh and you wont get to go anywhere for about 6 years.
I've heard that the best way to get in is to have an idea/presentation that may help the team/car.
they probably wont use it but it shows you are thinking the way they like (if they hire you)

What do you mean by anywhere? I aint been on a proper holiday for 10 years. As long as i can get to a dragstrip at the weekend I am happy. I also want to start hillclimbs after seeing the guys at Prescott.
Agreed, I work in oil and gas design engineering, and if you've got cad experience etc then there are loads of jobs going - the whole industry is crying out for engineers, and there's plenty of money in it too. As an aside, it's interesting work, especially subsea work, and there's some good travel in it if you ever fancy it.. I can put you on to some recruitment people specific to the industry if you're interested?
