Ned was Peter Wheelers dog and walked freely around the factory all day.
At that time (2003) Ned was a young dog so Ned should be around 11 years old now.

Anyone with some information about this legendary dog ?

Ned passed away a few years ago.

Whoops!!! pressed return too quickly there.

I think he'd be a bit older than you're thinking as he was a puppy when Peter was using the 'White Elephant' which was built in 1988 as the recess in the rear N/S was for Ned so that would make him well over 15 in 2003.

No, that was Sam back in the White Elephant days. Same German Pointer breed, different dog...

Oh right, I thought it was the same dog, some of the factory guys seem to think it was. Does make sense though as he'd have been getting on a bit in 2003.

Pretty sure Ned's passed on though.

Yes, Ned's dead. He's the dog that famously bit the chunk from the front corner of the Chimaera foam model. Given that the car was produced from what, 1993 onwards...? He'd be 20+ now. Not possible for a GSP...

I believe that is just a myth I'm afraid. I remember a while back a few original TVR employees debunking it.

Aah, the legendary Ned. There is a clip of JC "interviewing" him on Youtube somewhere.

The TVR story *NEEDS* such myths though ...

... did you know that the Chim exhausts were tuned by Thor himself and left on TVRs front doorstep with a note saying "here be the sound of the Gods"?

(And he also decreed that they should be fitted to Griffs so that they didn't feel left out and cry.) hehe

Ned (and the Chimaera story) was already featured in some detail in the 1994 edition of Johnny Tipler's book TVR-The Complete Story so no way he was still a 'young' dog in 2003.

Not going to do a search (it's still useless) but I think Ned's obituary on here was from before the Smolenki days, even...
