GKN to BTR Diff Conversion.
Discussion
Hi all,
Time to look at the racer again! Last time out we sheared the diff mounts! The car is an early 90's (94?)Griff, originally with a 5ltr engine. It had a GKN diff but to make ratios easier we changed to a BTR unit though the mounts were a PITA and rather stressed from memory (and I can't remember if we used GKN, BTR or a mix of both lol)
I'm just wondering if anyone makes a bracket that will be a direct bolt on for an older style chassis mounting points with BTR diff? Or do I need to fabricate some bespoke ones? Would just rather not have the same 'stressed' setup...
Thanks in advance!
Dave

You can swap between gkn and btr in the challenge car. there is a different back cover for the GKN and a different set of mounts that bolt between the chassis and diff.
it might be worth asking JR if he has any gkn back covers, and spare diff mounts ( although they can be copied) and then as you've got to bugger about with the chassis any way mod the chassis brackets to be the same as the tuscan then you can swap diffs out.
