It would help if you stated which car.
Your profile says its a Cerbera so I'll go with that. The Mil light is directly contriolled by the ECU and it is trying to say that it has detected a fault somewhere. The usual procedure is to take it to a dealer/specialist to plug in the diagnostic software and chcek the car out.
