Maybe:

1) They had stuff in the boot
2) They were only going a short(ish) distance
3) They were about to park somewhere dodgy or under a tree
4) They couldn't be bothered to remove it
5) They had been on the motorway

... or any of the other reasons why us single car TVR owners often have the roof up.

Well said, i also put the roof up later on Sunday as having spent all day in the sun at the mid-essex meet, was starting to look on the red side, particularly where I've grown too tall for my hair!!
