Hi, after lusting over TVRs for the pasr 10 years im finally in a position to buy one,The griff 500 is the car I really want,But some reviews have suggested you need to be a rally driver to handle the Beast,Is the Chimaera a safer bet to begin with? or should I bite the bullet and go for the griff.

Aww, this sh1t is always spouted by people who want you to think they've got big balls because of the car they drive 
. My 22 year old niece and my 73 year old mother can both drive my Griff 500 perfectly competently. My sister has a Chimaera 450.
Buy what you want, budget another few hundred quid on some RideDrive sessions and love it to bits.
If you buy a car you don't really want just as an introduction, you'll end up selling it in 6 months at a loss and buying what you really wanted in the first place.

Since the Chim 500 is identical to the Griff under the fibreglass, you might as well go for what you fancy!

Buy the Griff, unless of course you prefer those softy MX5 derivatives.

Here we go, here we go, here we go! 1. Do you want a classic looking head turning car with a large boot or do you want an old mans round arsed misfit?
2. Are you a person of style and grace or is your chest hair long enough to tie ribbons in?
These are the key questions to ask yourself, the answer will surely follow.
Just make sure it is blue, I think both Gruff and Chimaera owners will agree that blue ones are soooooo much faster.

On the other hand, it entertains my neighbours so much to see me upside-down in the passenger seat with my legs up over the roll bar that it could be said that the position of the battery makes a positive contribution to community relations and social cohesion

Thruxton is being penned in as a mini Le Mans meet.
I hope it does turn out that way, just to see if there are any complaint letters in the next Sprint!

I've gone visual 
the differences in the real world are probably quite small, relative to say the difference between either and a fiesta. given this, when you open your front door and see the car you buy sitting on the drive, which shape will make you go 'oh yes!' more? for me it was the Chimaera. It looks great from any angle, whereas the Griffith only looks nice from certain angles, and looks a little on the plain side, especially the boot area. (Yes, obviously, this is my opinion, but I was spending the money on the car so my opinion counted the most!)

Griffs look good from underneath!
