Not being a member of any breakdown service YET!? Which one would people recommend for European trip through France, Switzerland, Italy and Germany? Then still be used at home here in Blighty???

We've got ADAC plus cover, they are based in Germany but in the UK their agent is the AA. Very comprehensive and worth a look. Hope that helps!

This. As an existing member I asked the AA for European cover to go to the Le Mans Classic and was quoted £142 for the duration of the trip - 4th to 9th July. I can get ADAC cover plus for €79 that covers me (not the car) for 12 months throughout Europe.

Yes have heard they're good.

ADAC are excellent.
They have recovered me back to the UK 3 times in the last 5 years.
Rental car supplied, very efficient etc.
Full European cover was €83,50 first year followed by €79,- every year since.

Yep! I'm with the ADAC too. Top company in every way except they like to spam German addresses with Info and offers constantly.
