0-60 times,

Who sets them ?

Is it a racing driver, an average from your normal motorist or what ?

My cerb quotes 4.2 sec's, but who was driving ?

Surely the 0-60 time on an automatic or 4 wheel drive and traction control is going to be more acheivable ?

I imagine it's the journalists for the various publications that set the 0-60 times. The factory figures will be set by their own test drivers. Usually they do several runs with a passenger and a full tank of gas, and take the average.

As for setting 0-60 times more easily in a 4WD car I must disagree. Sure, the 0-60 of a 4WD car can be quicker than its 2WD equivalnt, but achieving the quoted figures is just as hard.

For example, a friend of mine has a modified Subaru Imprezza turbo and with our G-meter set a 5.3 sec 0-60 time. Another friend of mine (who doesn't own the car) managed a 4.48

I think this goes to show that a good driver will always get close to the mark regardless of machinery.

I think that shows that if you don't own the car, you can get a faster time without worrying about the cost of a new clutch
