Was at the Chailey airshow this weekend, and right outside the VIP tent was ermm, a heavily modified Rolls Royce Phantom 2 I suppose

They were using the Spitfire's Merlin V12 lump and by G*D it was LOUD!!!!! There were children crying from the noise, it was absolutely insane! Here's the spec if anyone's interested

Probably cost less to service than a TVR...

I live near Chailey and played golf very near to there yesterday. Kept getting buzzed by low flying fighter planes! Not that it made a difference to my attempts at the game but some of them were bloody loud from where I was standing! Nice to see though.

Excellent! I recon one of the loudest planes had to be the spitfire - on par with some other plane, I forget its name.

Try standing 2 feet away from the tailpipes when the engine is on the ground. Its crazyness! I love it!!!

The car has not been on the road, at least it looks that way, with the tyres (the new plastic bit sticking up from between the tread has not been work away)... is it possible to legally have one of those on the road?

I think the SD1 used the meteor tank engine, rather than the blown Merlin.
