Does anyone have a list of contact details for the TVR dealers in the above countries? I cannot see this informaton on TVR's website any longer.

(We're heading down to Italy in a few weeks and I like to be prepared).

True. I couldn't fault them. Alessandro knows loads about everything mechanical. He's just about to start building a replica AC Cobra.... in aluminium... and the new engine is sitting on the floor of his office! Worth the trip just to talk to the guy and see the workshops. Just found out the Milan dealership is closed from 3 Aug to 3 Sept.

Either get it dragged to Switzerland.... or take a list of Italian Land Rover Dealerships.

there is also Beat Eggimann from Eggimann Cars in Sissach (near Basel). It is not a dealer but he services my chimaera and all kind of British cars.

As Peter said, we all have our “local-mechanic-you-can-trust” who could help you if needed. Mine is in Lugano and whilst he never worked on a Speed 6 engine, he works on all sort of race engines and is doing whatever needed on mine between big services (including tappets adjustment). In case you have an emergency down here…
When are you guys driving across Switzerland?

NOOOOOO … we are leaving for 2-week holidays on that w/e BUT I will try to “massage” the situation and meet you somewhere half-way between Lausanne and Lugano so we could at least have a nice drive back toward Lugano together. When do you plan to leave Lausanne?

Im travelling through France and Switzerland to Italy in September. Telephone numbers for TVR garages are very useful.

Hope to bump into a few of the Continental Tivs on route

Thanks for the dealer links guys. Our trip is as follows:

Sun 29th Aug Eurotunnel, drive to Nurburgring. Stay at Dorint.
Mon 30th Aug Oh look, it seems that it's a public day, must do a few laps ... then drive down to Garmisch Partenkirchen, stop overnight.
Tues 31st Aug, Weds 1st Sept - lots of mountain passes to and fro, ending up in Bolzano.
Thurs 2nd Sept, Fri 3rd Sept - A nice hotel up in the mountains near Cortina. Visit lots of towns and do loads more driving in the Alps/Dolomites.
Sat 4th Sept - drive back North, stop either near Trier or Heidelberg (not yet booked).
sun 5th - Eurotunnel home.

We came over the Sion route 2 years ago - excellent drive up the mountain. We were coming from Italy and the road was clear - there was however a queue into Italy from Switzerland heading South (border weighing station or something?). Looked like mostly trucks, but I'm not sure how cars would have got past, they seemed to be caught in the queue too. Just a warning.

Thanks for the warning. I was expecting the pass to be quiet, and just assumed all trucks would use the tunnel. I guess the tunnel Toll must be expensive?

We might be leaving only on Sunday morning, so I will keep in touch with you.

BTW, if you fancy a nice ride from Lausanne to Lugano that not necessarily go through Locarno, you could do the following: Lausanne – Vevey – Bulle (you could visit the Chateux de la Gruyère) – Jaunpass – Spiez (Lake of Thun) – Interlanken – Brienz (driving on the north side of the Brienz Lake) – Meiringen – Grimselpass – have a drink in Gletsch and enjoy the view of the Rhone glacier
From there you have 2 options to get over to Ticino: Nufenenpass or Furkapass including the road used by James Bond in Goldfinger and Gotthardpass.

It is a bit longer too, but it is IMHO very nice for the driver (if you see what I mean) as well as for the passenger (sightseeing).

If I can manage it, I would be delighted to “escort” you from let’s say the region of Meiringen back to Lugano.
