...whats possible and whats been done?
In the 9s is a good lap in a regular car and I used to do 8s without any problems but its been a long time since I've been so I was wondering wether there's any new stars?
Any fast laps out there?
What do you think is possible in a TVR anyway? Nordschleife BTG?

Lots of broken fibreglass & a bent chassis! Without traction control, a huge number of previous laps, bucket loads of talent & some massive balls I think it'd be tough to match a "regular car". Would love a closed track & some local tuition to see what's possible. Oh, and someone elses tvr just in case 
My friend who had a GT3 has done it in the eights but that was after dozens of years practising. He then rolled it 3 times, (in one go!) a couple of years ago, walked away without a scratch.........point is, it won't be easy!
I'm going there weather permitting in a couple of weeks, no need to worry Andy, I shall be in snail mode just for the experience

.Well I'm taking my Tuscan Challenge Car over for a go on the Destination Nurburgring Trackday in October so I guess we'll find out.
I did a 7:53 in my Griff, 2 up on a public day, so I'm hoping to get a low 7 minute lap.
Phill came with us in 2006/7 and was doing 9s straight away.
There are some pointers and info that I passed on and I beleive he got into the 8s on his first day. Very impressive.
He's on here several times along with us smoking tyres on the Ring at about 1m30s.

I want to do this. Have been thinking about it for a while. Not sure if my driving style would suit the track in terms of staying alive but I suppose that is the challenge!
Andy when in October? Would I be able to take the race car? Are there events where it's run like a proper track day? Don't fancy coming across a coach mid corner!

if you search youtube for videos by bosscerbera you will find a few laps of the ring, not sure how long he took but he normally manages to hussle a Cerb round fairly quickly.
He did a hot lap on our Cerburgring trip which is on Youtube - around 8.5 mins iirc. He had 'arebrec' in the car - she's fearless! That makes two of them then!

Your 7:53 BTG is quickest lap in a TVR I know of then I think was my 8:05 in my old Tuscan S like you two up. To achieve in a Griffith is outstanding. I did a 7:53 in my Griff, 2 up on a public day, so I'm hoping to get a low 7 minute lap.

Many well set up TVR's would breach 8 minutes BTG just dependent on the drivers experience, knowledge & conditions although would near impossible on touristdays over the recent years. On a DN day no question.
I'm attending the Destination Nurburgring trackday too & there the weekend after next including Spa & Zandvoort. Hopefully catch up in October.

I hope it soldiers on in some form or another - it's an iconic piece of road. Just glad I did it with the German TVRCC last August.

Crikey, thats quick it a stockish car...mine was racing by then. around 400bhp/1060kg
It not all knowledge tho...I did an 11m lap a month or so ago
