Typical - a chance of a nice blast on business this morning and the car won't start
Fuel pump isn't priming/buzzing
strangely it was buzzing of its own free will a couple of days ago - I came out the front door and could hear it - bizzare!! car wasnt locked 
disarmed the immobiliser and she fired up okay. switched off and locked the car. Left it a couple of days - now I get nowt when I switch the ignition on
OK guys & gals - where should I start????

Nope - not for a few weeks any way (back when I had the problem with the 100a fuse)
I'm wondering if something has got wet - forgot the car cover again
had a fiddle with the relays - no joy but noticed a faint buzzing sound from under the bonnet when I switch the ignition off

Darryl, relays will get warm when they are operating due to the power in the coils. Biggest problem is the contacts welding themselves together or breaking, preventing the relay from switching. If the coil is warm and not buzzing then the control side of the relay is probably working, just need to determine if the contact side works. Buzzing does sound like a dodgy relay/wiring to me.
Quick check would be to hold the relay body and get somebody to turn ignition on and off, you should feel and also hear the contacts working. Should feel a solid click and definately no buzzing. If it buzzes then there may be something wrong with eiter the relay coil or more likely the supply to it, ie dirty / poor contacts.
Have you got anything you can check the volts at the pump / relays with?

Yes, I suggest looking in the phone book for a Bosch outlet to save you time. My local place had to order them even then. Don't accept substitute makes - people on this forum have made that mistake before. Of course, somewhere like a good indie or tvrgear.com could probabl ship you some out overnight ...

The fuel pump relay you can get away with cheaper alternatives as a cheap temp fix. The main relay no chance. Land Rover / range rover should stock both items, or at least be able to order them.
Fuel pump relay feed to the pump is usually purple and white, the main relay has two large green and brown wires coming from it.
Also check the inline fuse between the main and fuel pump relays as this can blow if one of them fails. I had a probelm with my relays breaking up and small pieces of insultaion shorting them out. They will rattle if this is the case.

to attempt to get new relays - resulted in 1 available at local motor factors 1 Is better than none
fiddled around chopped and changed them and hey presto! it was music to my ears when I heard the fuel pump prime
