Tyres - which size/profile - Dunlop Sport Maxx

Currently running 18 inch 225/35 on the front and 255/35 on the rear.

Having been the lucky winner of the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tyres at PistonFest last month, I wondering what tyres to choose from their range as they don't have the same size as I've currently got.

Any suggestions?

LB - Get the absolute sizes and check them against those of the tyres you're currently running. The actual size of tyres varies from one manufacturer to another regardless of whats written on the tyre wall. I would think you should be able to go for 225/40/18 on the front and 245/35/18 on the rear. The 255/35/18 rear might fit but beware a 255/35/18 Dunlop came up an inch wider than a 255/35/18 Toyo on my car and would not clear the arch. I run 225/40/18 front and 235/40/18 rear Michelin Pilot Sport Cup on my Cerb it works well. If I could make it fit I'd probably run 235/40/18 all round. I would recommend going to 40 profile tyres if possible. I think 35 profile is too low and gives insufficient tyre wall to make the tyre work properly.

well, they list 255/35s and thats standard now on tuscans isn't it ? I'd have thought that'd be fine.

you'd have a wee bit higher profile on the front..

35% of 235 = 82.25mm sidewall

40% of 255 = 102mm sidewall

or put 235/40s on the front:

40% of 235 = 94mm

You could probably go to 40 profile on the front without adversely affecting the car. Would probably slightly reduce the oversharpness in the steering?
