I know this one keeps coming up... but my membership lapsed about 6-9 months ago and I'm considering rejoining as I quite miss the monthly Sprint mags coming through the door.
.... but, are there any other benefits that really make it a no-brainer to join up?
The last time I went on their forum it was like a ghost town, and I doubt I would get parts and insurance much cheaper than I do now...

The problem with the forum is that people say oh it's quiet and then don't post, then people don't post because it's quiet. Self fulfilling prophecy so it's chicken and egg really. Forums per-se are falling in usage, even this forum has substantially less traffic than it used to which I guess is down to the growth in other social media such Facebook and Twitter.
The Insurance thing has been looked at and we're about to announce more 'approved insurers' who may well give better prices due to your club membership. If you insure your car with one of those companies then you benefit the club as they get an intro fee and potentially support for events.
The other benefits are the various events that are TVRCC such as the offers we had for the Le Mans classic this year or regional events only so it all depends on whether you see those as something you'd want to attend and therefore worth having.
Personally I'd say getting Sprint every month was a good enough benefit in itself..... but then I would say that wouldn't I?

Lee its quite easy to get the membership fee and more back with some of the benefits. RAC membership being a good one (at least for ourselves - even if we only need to use it on our non-TVRs) .... but, are there any other benefits that really make it a no-brainer to join up?

I don't do it as I found the mags going direct to the bin without being opened. :-(
Why?Maybe he got a little fed up with getting advertising rags through the post??
My read normally takes less than 3 minutes, but then Sprint is low on the list of why I'm a member

I'm with him. [sorry V8GRF, no malice intended as we seem to agree on most things] The Mag' is a poor read for me. What happened to featuring owners cars and mods' done? Sorry, seeing a TVR in a wedding shot is not for me, and as by the time you get two thirds through it's over 'cus the rest is ad's and regional write ups that are far too long. Just my thought

To be fair I believe the magazine has less advertising compared to copy than the majority of the glossy mags filling the shelves at your local WHSmiths so thats a positive. We try hard to make the mag as interesting to the membership as possible and considering we're all part time I don't think we do a bad jon on the whole, but you can't please all the people all of the time and we struggle to get content from those who know about the older cars (which I'm guessing is your main interest John?)
But then I'm sure the 3 minutes you do spend is usually spent on the articles I contribute

With regards to the first bit we need owners to submit the info, there are several (8 - 10 at the last count & they know who they are
) owners out there who have promised me (don't know anout other model editors) articles and we can't make those up..... as regards to articles about wedding well it is a magazine for the membership and if a member submits an article then......
So I'm going to say what I usually say if you have an idea, a project or interesting topic or know someone then the address to email it to is on teh front inside cover of the magazine

I have been in many car clubs and the TVRCC is by far the best for the money IMO. They do a fantastic job considering they have no manufacturer backing it now unlike a lot of other club and most of them are part time. Again Sprint does have lot's of adverts but it's still a much better magazine than most car clubs IMO.
I'm sure there's going to be a phenomenal feature on a certain Speed12 build, maybe even two Speed12 builds that will be worth the 12-month membership in their own right...
It would be great to get more articles about individuals special cars, even some of the Cat-D projects that have been posted on PH recently...

There are a lot of ads tho it has to be said
Agree with all the good Sprint stuff etc.
Another thing to consider if a proper TVR geezer...
The TVRCC IS TVR atm afaic
The have all records and archives and are currently still going through them all trying to get everything in order.
They sponsor TVR Racing
They Sponsor TVR Sprinting
They run or back just about every TVR event/meet if only in name to help with Insurance costs
They promote and assist with Techy stuff/publicising etc
They have a big national every few years
They are the point of call for all Journos with any interest.
They are non profit!!!
If you aren't just and transient owner having a TVR for a couple of years out of interest and are actually interested in the marque you should be a member!
No one else is doing F--- all!
