2003 Tuscan S6 4.0 - rad cap pressure setting
Discussion
Hi All, I wonder if anyone can help me? I have a kit car with a tuscan speedsix 4.0 engine. The water system header tank is off something else - a freelander of something similar. The pressure setting for the rad cap I have is 1 bar. I wondered if anyone knew the correct pressure setting for the Tuscan OE? Many thanks
The pressure cap is a VAG part, typically found on a VW Golf Mk.2.
They are also used on some SEAT cars with the same engine....I know, because I had to get one at Le Mans in 2010 and the local VW dealership 'phoned to the Seat outlet up the road to source a cap for me!
DO NOT bother with any of the pattern parts. They fail after <1000 miles. Hence my experience above!

The VAG part (which I bought) did not fit, the thread diameter was too big. I swapped it at europarts for the correct cap. I'm just concerned that the cap that is now fitted does not have the correct pressure release as it is 1 bar. Having said that I guess it doesnt matter too much, as at the worst it will simply release the water at too low a pressure, which will be an inconvenience.
