Estoril Wheel Manufacturer

Anyone know the name of the Italian manufacturer of the Estoril Wheel ?



What i'm really after is the name of these TVR Wheels as fitted to Griffiths,Cerbera and early Tuscans

I think OZ were the original manufacturers for most TVR wheels.

Those aren't Estorils as I'm sure you're aware, don't think I've ever seen them on anything else other than the Griffith derived 'Speed 6' and in that picture.

I did find the manufacturer of the Estorils from a search some time back on a name that was cast into the rims and iirc it was from an indonesian forge plant 'ZAP' not one of the 'usual suspects'

Ok,for those who are interested Estorals and those in the picture were made in Italy by a very old foundary called FOMB, Founderie Officine Maifrini SRL in Brescia or at least my wheels were.
Unfortunately i can't lay my hands on the Pictures but if memory serves me correct,my other wheels were used on the Griffith speed Six prototype,a white Griffith,,A Flip purple Tuscan and a Cerbera that i know of.

The wheels in the pic above were on the Speed 6 Griff and then went onto the protype 1989 Griff (used to be owned by Mack but not sure who has it now) whic I beleive is the picture above as it is a red car. Mack told me there were only 3 or 4 sets of these wheels ever produced so not sure where they are. Never seen them on a white Griff tbh.

If only you had asked a few weeks ago, I was in Brescia.

They do look nice, but as above were only fitted to Show cars and never made it out on the road.

Do you have a set or just looking to upgrade to them?

Hi Colin,you NI guys missed a good rip around the Park the other day,The TVR's recorded some great speeds down the straight,way faster than the Ferrari's,just got to persuade Graham to bring a Speed 12 or two over next year to show the crowd what TVR's can really do in anger.

Just had a flick through Autocar and they were fitted to the first Tuscan in 5 stud form as well as you rightly say other show cars,etc,whether they actually made it to the road i'm not sure.unfortunately my scanner is broken at the mo.

I have 2 sets of these wheels and will probably fit them to my Chimaera which will give me 2 sets of Estorils to sell to help pay for the 5 stud conversion and AP Brake conversion.

The 16" Cerb wheels were OZ Saturns.

Having re read the Autocar article on the Tuscan to see if i missed anything,all it says, There will be several wheel choices including an exotic looking seven spoke design which is new for the road going Tuscan

Dermot, spoke to the guys at S&D today, it seems you're in conversation with them already, ask to speak to Mike Williams (He may well answer the phone) or Trevor Cooper next time you call they have historical knowledge of the wheels but Mike seemed to think they may have either been an evolution of the Estoril or indeed a design from Speedline.

Apparently offered but not many takers so not pursued in numbers.
