To buy a sensible 'normal' car. The Chim will be off the road a bit this winter (unlike last winter) with lots of jobs to do including the SC install, new brakes, and a bunch of other stuff. So, I need a 'runabout', something I can get a bikerack on (or an estate/hatch so the bike'll fit inside), something that I don't have to worry about too much (like leaving it at the airport when I pop up to Aberdeen for a few days). Something I can get stuff in to take down the tip. You know the sort of thing.... So, I've been thinking about a Passat diesel estate, maybe a Skoda, or an old Focus perhaps. So, needing to sort this fairly quickly so I can pick whatever it is up as soon as I get home towards the end of October, I jumped in with both feet yesterday. And bought a mint Golf VR6.

I think It'll be a great stablemate for the Chim smile

Know exactly what you mean there and don't blame you with VR6, I'm sure it will have you grinning. Not a VAG fan myself but I cannot bring myself to get a modern boggo snotter for everyday use, life really is too short. Travel should have its pleasures even if your just going to the dump. Anyway, enjoyable transport will sooner or later be illegal so grab it while you can I say.
