Tuscan fuel pump problems
Discussion
Thought I'd put this here for a wider audience
I believe I flooded the car so tried taking the fuel pump relay out and then starting, it seemed to work with the car sort of starting then died. Put the relay back in and still not starting. Then realised the fuel pump wasn't coming on.
So far we have established the following
We tried another relay from another Tuscan, so we know the relay is good.
The fuel pump does work - a live feed from the battery makes the fuel pump come on.
We tested for voltage at the relay - when the immobiliser button is pressed the relay comes on and shows 12v but then within about 2 seconds loses all voltage? What does this mean?
We can't seem to get any voltage at the inertia switch terminals.
There doesn't seem to be any voltage at fuse number 34(fuel pump) at all at any time.
Immobiliser seems to work, like mentioned the relay does initially click and see power, the immobiliser lights do go out and the oil light does come on so I think it's all working ok.
So any ideas? Am gutted as was meant to be doing a trackday today
Is this just a big can of worms which would be remedied with a live switched feed from battery to immobiliser? Of course I'd rather fix properly, which if we can't do it'll be off to str8 6 but it's quite inconvenient so fixing at home is ideal for now.
Thanks
